How to Configure Inactive Users Manager

How administrators can configure, scan, export, and optionally remove inactive Jira users.

Who can configure?

  • Jira Admins
  • Site Admins (recommended)

1. Access the App

Go to: Apps → Inactive Users Manager.

2. Configure Admin API (Required)

To enable accurate activity detection:

  • Enter ORG ID
  • Enter Admin API Key
  • Use an Organization Admin account

3. Select Groups

Choose one or more groups, such as license groups or custom groups.

4. Select Inactivity Period

Define the number of days used to classify inactivity, for example 30, 45, or 60 days.

5. Run Scan

The app will fetch users from the selected groups, evaluate last activity, and generate a report.

6. Export Report

The export includes:

  • Name
  • Email
  • Account ID
  • Last active
  • Days inactive
  • Status

7. (Optional) Remove Users

If permitted, you can select users and select groups to remove access. This action may revoke product licenses.
